Dear C.A. N. Recipients and Volunteers—                           May 21, 2011

           

As you no doubt heard, funding for the 29th St. Weed & Seed ended this year. Since it’s grant was our main source to pay for administrative expenses and site coordinator, whom we can no longer afford, we have had to revamp how we do things. Volunteers will now handle all office duties and requests.

 

Request proceedures will remain the same, so recipients will still call 406-6959 if they need transportation or other help. On of our volunteers will be answering the phone Mondays through Fridays from 9a.m. to 5p.m. However, office hours will be by appointment only.

 

Please note that requests must be made a minimum of 24 hours ahead of time, preferably at least two days ahead. During the summer and holidays, we are short of volunteers, so it can take more time to find one to accomidate the recipient’s request.

 

Also, the C.A.N. Board of Directors is actively seeking grants and planning other fund-raising activities. One that we are currently working on is creating and publishing a C.A.N. cookbook. If you would like to submit your recepie or help with the making of the cook book, please contact Tommy Valentine @ 790-0623.

 

If you know someone in our five neighborhood area who is eligible and can use our help, or know someone who can volunteer to help or donate, please share this information with them and have them give us a call @ 406-6959
